Small Pages at Carol C Spaulding Studio: Returning July 28, 2025
This half-day retreat, led by Carol and her daughter Holly Wren Spaulding, poet and educator, is an opportunity to spend time in and outside the studio, surrounded by art, poetry, luscious materials, and views of the sky and gardens. Participants will be guided through a process involving improvisational collage and other creative exercises to get you making objects of personal significance.
Inspiration will be found in the following:
art and writing as contemplative practice
spontaneity & improvisation
the pleasure of making something with our own hands
a spirit of experimentation
Our theme for 2025 is Seen/Unseen. We will be working with color, contrast, white space, layers, transparencies, words, and the gaps between.
There will be flowers. There will be songbirds, flourishing gardens, conversations that only happen when we are in the same place. We'd be honored if you decided to join us for this special experience.
Monday, July 28, 2025 | 10am–3pm at the studio of Carol C. Spaulding, near Little Glen Lake, on the Leelanau Peninsula.
